Marie Montaud creates a delicate and precious universe in which a a lot of original materials mingle to give birth to pieces in a bohemian chic spirit. A new reference of jewellery in Paris.
Who are you?
Marie Montaud, founder of the Medecine Douce brand.
How did you start in fashion?
Fashion came to me.
How would you define your style?
Our role is to design surprising jewellery that is constantly renewed in an elegant, bohemian style. Our jewellery is made meticulously by expert French craftsmen and women in a way that is respectful of people and natural resources.
What inspires you?
All the things and all the people that I meet give birth to stories in the Medecine Douce universe. Sometimes just to be contrary and argumentative.
A few words about this collection...
Half Aphrodite, half Tahitian, this collection unravels the relics of Antiquity, combining them with the raw minerals that nature offers us in their most absolute simplicity. There are golden torques, bangles and hoop earrings enhanced by fragments of white agate, bracelets mounted with free-form mother-of-pearl or cornelian, with, here and there, a sprinkling of antique medals in the colours of fine stones, mounted in delicate, serrated claws. Nature and culture are intertwined, like two reconciled sisters.
What's your favorite piece in our selection?
The Pampa earrings because they are sophisticated in a raw yet precious spirit.
What are you most proud of?
To always keep on producing every piece in Paris.
Where do you manufacture your products?
Where can we find your collection?
In our boutique, at the Bon Marché and in other point of sales in Paris, more largely in France. In Tokyo, London, New York...
If your brand was a music, a movie, a cocktail...
